Keep residue under control

Anti-slip performance is affected by what sits on top of the floor. Soap, body oil, conditioner, grease and cleaner residue can all change how a surface feels.

A consistent cleaning routine is therefore part of floor safety, whether the floor is treated or untreated.

Use the least complicated routine that works

Rinse loose dirt, use a suitable floor cleaner according to its label, agitate the surface with an appropriate brush or pad, then rinse thoroughly so cleaner is not left behind. Allow the area to drain and dry properly.

Avoid creating a new film

Products that leave polish, wax or a heavy residue can change floor behaviour. If you are unsure whether a cleaner is compatible with your treated floor, check with the service provider before changing products.

Watch for changes over time

If the floor starts feeling more slippery than usual, clean it thoroughly first. If the change remains after cleaning, arrange a reassessment rather than simply adding more product to the surface.

Important: Floor behaviour depends on surface material, contaminants, cleaning and use conditions. Anti-slip treatment can improve traction on suitable surfaces but cannot make a floor completely slip-proof.
