Appearance & suitability
We check because not every tile should be treated the same way.
Some dark, polished, decorative or previously treated surfaces can show dulling, lightening or colour variation. We would rather identify that risk before treating the whole bathroom.
- Tell us if the floor is newly renovated, sealed or previously coated.
- Where appropriate, we use a discreet patch test or spare tile.
- We may recommend not proceeding if the visual or material risk is too high.

What is TractionWorks™ anti-slip surface treatment?
TractionWorks™ is the AntiSlip Works branded anti-slip surface treatment service. On suitable tile and mineral surfaces, the treatment is intended to create microscopic surface texture through a controlled surface interaction, helping improve traction when the floor becomes wet without adding a thick visible coating over the existing floor.
Is TractionWorks™ a coating? Will it peel off?
TractionWorks™ is positioned as a surface treatment rather than a thick film coating. It is intended to work at the floor surface instead of leaving a conventional visible layer over the tile. Suitability and the exact surface response still depend on the material and condition of the floor.
Can the treatment change the colour or appearance of my tiles?
Yes, some change is possible. Depending on material, colour, finish and previous treatments, a floor may become slightly duller, lighter or show small colour variation. Dark, polished, decorative and sensitive finishes can make changes more noticeable. We discuss this before treatment and use a discreet patch test or spare tile where appropriate.
Will AntiSlip Works patch test before treating the whole area?
Where appropriate, yes. A small hidden test area or spare tile can help us check how a surface responds and whether there is a visible change before proceeding. If we have already treated a clearly comparable surface, the workflow may be adjusted, but we still review suitability before full application.
Will I be able to feel the difference before you leave?
Where practical, yes. At handover we can review the treated floor with you and use a wet-floor or soapy-water demonstration so you can feel the difference for yourself. This is a practical customer demonstration and should not be presented as a laboratory slip-resistance certification.
How long does a bathroom treatment take?
Most residential bathroom treatments are completed in approximately 60–120 minutes. The actual time depends on floor area, cleaning and preparation needs, tile response, patch testing and the final rinse and dry-down.
How long does the anti-slip effect last?
Service life varies with floor material, traffic, cleaning method, contamination and how the area is used. Treatment may remain effective beyond one year on suitable surfaces, but actual field performance varies. AntiSlip Works currently backs eligible residential treatments with our 3-Month Traction Assurance.
What is the 3-Month Traction Assurance?
If you notice a meaningful reduction in wet-floor grip in a treated residential area under normal use during the first three months, contact AntiSlip Works. We will assess the area and provide rectification where the issue falls within the assurance coverage. The assurance does not cover physical damage, tile replacement or renovation, abnormal wear, treatment or coatings applied by others, harsh or unsuitable chemicals, areas not treated by AntiSlip Works, or changes caused by the underlying tile or substrate rather than the treatment. Ongoing cleaning and reasonable after-care are also required.
